Sugar will be the main sweetener. Simply put, high fructose corn syrup will not be allowed in the food supply, especially in sweets, and soda pops. This will mean that some manufacturers will have to adjust their recipe if they wish to market in Kaldus, but simply put, while not a healthy choice, sugar is better than corn syrup. Also, with corn syrup being produced from corn, this will optimize the crop farms to actually produce nutritious corn based foods.
Foods with a percentage of sugar (unknown for sure) will be considered as a sweet food. This will remove the limit on the price of the food. This is because sweet foods will not be considered as essential. This will include candy, and soda pops. Also, since these items are not considered as essential foods, there will be sales tax applied.
