Meat farms will either have a number of animals that they will raise and slaughter, or specialize in one or two animals. In either case, these animals must be treated justly. While it might be cheaper to pen up the animals for their entire life, this is not fair to the animal, and can be considered as inhumane. However, as the need for meat increases, there must be other options.
The government will invest into companies to produce lab grown meat and at a comparable price to live grown animals. This will mean for smaller meat farms to where the animal will just have to give their stem cells so the meat can be lab grown. Once this becomes a viable solution, then lab grown meat will be an option, and this will mean a more humane life, and a better quality of standards. Also, for those that are vegetarians on ethical issues will find that lab grown meat can be acquired without violating those ethical decisions, and concerns.
There will also be a push for vegetable based meats such as Beyond Meat. For those that are vegetarians because of diet concerns will be able to consume something that taste like meat, and have the nutrients of meat, but made from vegetable fibers rather than actual animal. Again, investment in such companies will be important by the Kaldan government to make meats more affordable, and more ethically sound.
